2008 One Palm Pinot Noir

2008 One Palm Pinot Noir

Meet our One Palm Pinot Noir, the debonair one of the bunch. He’s polished and gracious, with integrated oak that won’t overwhelm the senses. A dark cranberry color, customary of clone 667, hints of red fruits—strawberry, raspberry, and cherry. Yet there is a dusty quality that brings in an element of earthiness, even mushroom, which clearly define this as a steak wine. Yes, we’re talking more Rhett Butler than Ashley Wilkes, make no mistake, with a sultry sexy, brooding and…dare we say it?…dangerous edge. One sip of this and, frankly, you won’t give a damn.

Those who prefer higher toned, edgier Pinots will enjoy this immediately. To those who prefer more subtle, elegant wines, give this one a year to soften. The strong tannin structure and balanced fruit and alcohol ratio make this an ideal wine for cellaring—try it over the next 5-7 years.
